The Transitioning to Inquiry-Based Teaching is designed for practising classroom teachers who want to move from traditional, teacher-led instruction toward learner-centred, inquiry-driven pedagogy. It suits both early-career teachers and experienced educators looking to refresh their practice.
There are no formal prerequisites. You should be a serving or pre-service teacher with access to a classroom where you can try out the strategies. Basic digital literacy and a reliable internet connection are the only technical requirements.
Click the Modules button on the course page, then complete the free enrollment step with your name. You'll need to create an account (email and password, or Google sign-in) so we can save your progress, quiz results, and certificate securely.
The course runs over 6–8 weeks and requires approximately 40–60 hours of study. Each of the six modules contains four lessons, a 10-question quiz, and a 20-question Continuous Assessment Test (CAT).
Each module has a 10-question multiple-choice quiz and a 20-question CAT that combines multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and open-ended questions. The open-ended and fill-in-the-blank responses are evaluated by AI, which provides written feedback on each answer.
You need to achieve 70% or above in every module — both the quiz and the CAT contribute to a weighted score per module. Once you pass all six modules, you become eligible for the Certificate of Completion.
Once your weighted average across all six modules reaches 70%, the Certificate of Completion unlocks on the course materials page. You can download it as a PDF immediately — it includes your name, average score, and a unique certificate ID.
Yes. Both quizzes and CATs can be retaken as many times as you need. We record your latest submission, so your most recent score is the one that counts toward your module weighted score.
The course is designed as a sequential journey from Module 01 to Module 06, but you're free to navigate to any module. We recommend following the order, as later modules build on concepts introduced earlier.
